Rickie’s Parrot Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501c(3) public charity formed in the state of Florida.  Unlike most rescues, we do not charge an intake fee. We do not believe in kicking people when they are down.  We believe it’s about rescue and the bird and not the money.

While we take in a all displaced birds, we specialize in special needs birds.  Some of us have experience with and have become specialized in medical needs and some of us specialize in behavioral issues.  We bring these babies in…rehabilitate those that can be rehabilitated and then find them forever homes.

We screen all of our potential adopters and fosters ensuring that these babies go to homes with the experience and right surrounding for these babies.  In most cases, we do not charge adoption fees for our special babies, but everyone must go through the adoption process. We do charge an adoption fee for the normal birds that come in..all based upon age and degree of tameness.

Our officers consist of those who have experience in rescue as well as rehabilitation of birds.  We offer only the best for those placed our care.

Our birds are vetted prior to adoption to ensure the best start for the birds as well as the families that they are going to.
